What Sponsors Need to Know
I AM NEW TO MY ROLE AS THE NASBA MAIN CONTACT. WHAT RESOURCES CAN HELP MAKE SURE MY PROGRAMS ARE COMPLIANT WITH THE CPE STANDARDS AND NASBA POLICIES?
As the main contact, you are responsible for ensuring that your organization complies with the Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs (Standards). The National Registry website, www.nasbaregistry.org, contains the most comprehensive collection of details to help your organization achieve compliance.
Even though your organization is already a member of the National Registry, you may want to begin your understanding of the National Registry by reviewing the following videos in the "Preparing to Apply" section:
- Preparing to Apply
- General Application Review Process
These two videos provide quick and high-level overviews of documentation you need to gather and provide steps in the general application process. For delivery format specific information, please select the desired delivery method and watch the corresponding video that highlights key characteristics of that delivery method.
Of course, you’ll want to dig deeper and review the Standards, as the Standards provide specific details that correspond to program delivery formats and requirements on CPE program development, presentation, measurement and reporting.
Under the “Registry Forms & Policies” section of the website, you will find templates for the following documents that are delivery method specific:
- Internal Promotional Material
- External Promotional Material
- Certificate of Completion
- Evaluation Form (manual and electronic distribution)
- Program List
- Administrative Policies
There are several other documents that provide valuable information. These documents include:
- The Sponsor Agreement: provides details on your responsibilities as a sponsor
- National Registry Logo and Statement Guidelines
- The Field of Study document: provides the current field of study classifications
- What Sponsors Need to Know: provides guidance on NASBA processes and offers compliance tips
- Best Practices: tools other sponsors use to achieve compliance
