University of Georgia, Carl Vinson Institute of Government

Since 1927, the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, a  Public Service and Outreach Unit of the University of Georgia, has worked with public officials throughout Georgia and around the world to improve governance and people's lives. Faculty and staff provide technical assistance, training, and technology solutions to Georgia's state and local governments as well as governments around the world.

As a Public Service and Outreach unit of the University of Georgia, we share in the university’s overarching public service mission of extending our resources of professional knowledge and expertise to help communities improve their quality of life.  Fundamental to quality of life in Georgia and around the world is effective, efficient, and responsive governance.
