The American Society for Miltary Comptrollers is the the non-profit educational and professional organization for persons, military and civilian involved in the overall field of military financial managment. Established in San Antonio, Texas in 1943, the Society has grown to 18,000 members and has the mission of the enhanced professional development of the DoD financial managment workforce. To that end it sponsors professional training and education programs, an annual worldwide professional development Institute, a pre certification training course taught internationally 68 times annually and a test-based professional certification program, the Certified Defense Finanacial Managers' program.
