Flexibility Granted Due to COVID-19 Now Expired

01-Jan-2021

The flexibility to allow Registry sponsors approved for the Group Live delivery method only to convert in-person training events to online events is now expired. This flexibility was initially granted to address an emergency situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Deadline has passedThe flexibility was available until December 31, 2020, to allow sponsors ample time to pivot for future training events. For sponsors approved for the Group Live delivery method only, this time was given to allow sponsors to apply for the Group Internet Based delivery method in order to prepare for online training events in the future.

Flexibility had also been extended in certain limited circumstances to Registry sponsors approved for the Group Internet Based delivery method to ease adherence to the Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional (CPE) Programs (Standards) during the pandemic. The permitted departures from the Standards were never intended to be long term but to assist in this emergency situation. This flexibility is now expired, too.

Beginning January 1, 2021, the Registry team has reverted back to normal operating procedures for the National Registry of CPE Sponsors for applications and membership renewals, and approved sponsors will be expected to comply with the requirements of the respective instructional delivery methods as detailed in the Standards.

If a sponsor plans to offer online training after December 31, 2020, the Group Internet Based delivery method will need to be approved.
