Nashville SkylineNeon lights, the smell of award-winning barbeque and nationally recognized music establishments…yes, downtown Nashville is one-of-a-kind. As Music City continues to develop and expand, there are more and more attractions and dining options to discover and love about this southern gem. Whether you are looking for a unique dining experience or to immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant music scene, below is a list of recommendations for your visit.

Music

Ernest Tubb Record Shop: founded by the legendary Ernest Tubb, the record shop has been filling country music fans’ needs for over 69 years. It is open 24-hours a day.

Honky Tonks: a staple of downtown Nashville for good reasons. Enjoy free live music, every day of the week, as you stroll beneath the bright lights on along Broadway.

B.B. King’s Blues Club: an intimate restaurant and live music venue featuring some of the finest local entertainment in town, as well as national touring performers. Live performances are held nightly.

Oak Steakhouse: new to downtown, this restaurant offers a modern approach to steakhouse dining, serving farm-fresh dishes alongside steakhouse classics in a modern and intimate environment.

Gray & Dudley: led by Executive Chef Levon Wallace, Gray & Dudley brings an eclectic menu to downtown Nashville. Market driven dishes are fresh, bright, honest and playful, with some showcasing traditional hearth cooking methods.

Jack's: a Nashville tradition since 1976. Jack’s started on Broadway and has since opened two other locations. The restaurant has won numerous awards for best sauce, and customers continue to line up for the mouth-watering barbeque.

Johnny Cash MuseumCulture

Country Music Hall of Fame: is showcasing Dylan, Cash and the Nashville Cats: A New Music City. This exhibit explores the vibrant and expanding music scene in Nashville in the 1960s and 1970s. The museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Johnny Cash Museum: open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. This museum, “shows a deeper insight into his spirit and who he really was," says John Carter Cash, Johnny Cash’s son.

The Frist Center for the Visual Arts: will feature the exhibit Ancestral Modern: Australian Aboriginal Art from the Kaplan & Levi Collection through Oct. 15, 2017. This exhibition presents art that is modern in date and belongs to an artistic tradition that can be traced back fifty thousand years.
