The purpose of this session is to provide a brief overview of the common types of fraud occurring within governments as well as provide the participant with tools to prevent and/or detect those frauds.

At the end of this online class, the participant should be able to:

• recognize common types of fraud found in state and local governments, schools and school systems

• recall how these frauds are perpetrated

• identify methods to prevent and/or detect those frauds
